Keep Calm and Carry On...

I have listed a bottle cap necklace in my Etsy Shop, Dorsethillbeads...The saying on the necklace is "KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON"...This has been my affirmation for the last year or so...It's a great reminder when life gets crazy and sometimes out of control or just unsettling...

Several of my Etsy friends are asking why they see this saying so much around the Etsy community and where did it come from...Well, here is the explanation as I understand it...

Keep Calm and Carry On was a poster produced by the British government in 1939 during the beginning of World War II, to raise the morale of the British public in the case of invasion. It was little known and never used. The poster was rediscovered in 2000 and has been re-issued by a number of private sector companies, and used as the decorative theme for a range of other products.

Happiness...

"Tell everyone you know: "My happiness depends on me, so you're off the hook." And then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they're doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for th e way you feel—and then, you'll love them all. Because the only reason you don't love them, is because you're using them as your excuse to not feel good."
