Sharing Amish Friendship Bread...

BUY 4 CANDLES = FREE U.S. SHIPPING...
I'm featuring today our newest scent... Amish Friendship Bread...If you've ever made it you know how good it smells while baking...This candles is full of Amish Friendship Bread scent...Dotted with vanilla, drizzled with cinnamon and notes of sugar...OH SO GOOD...

Amish Friendship Bread Starter Recipe...
Ingredients• 1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
• 1/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
• 3 cups all-purpose flour, divided
• 3 cups white sugar, divided
• 3 cups milk
Directions
1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Let stand 10 minutes. In a 2 quart container glass, plastic or ceramic container, combine 1 cup flour and 1 cup sugar. Mix thoroughly or flour will lump when milk is added. Slowly stir in 1 cup milk and dissolved yeast mixture. Cover loosely and let stand until bubbly. Consider this day 1 of the 10 day cycle. Leave loosely covered at room temperature.
2. On days 2 thru 4; stir starter with a spoon. Day 5; stir in 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Days 6 thru 9; stir only.
3. Day 10; stir in 1 cup flour, 1 cup sugar and 1 cup milk. Remove 1 cup to make your first bread, give 2 cups to friends along with this recipe, and your favorite Amish Bread recipe. Store the remaining 1 cup starter in a container in the refrigerator, or begin the 10 day process over again (beginning with step 2).

• Once you have made the starter, you will consider it Day One, and thus ignore step 1 in this recipe and proceed with step 2. You can also freeze this starter in 1 cup measures for later use. Frozen starter will take at least 3 hours at room temperature to thaw before using.

Take a Look...Here we are...

This week the EtsyBloggers Blog Carnival is hosted by Edi from Memories for Life Scrapbooks ... There are two questions to this week's Carnival but I'm going with a little of both...

1) Show your face! I love to know the artist behind the work. Show us a picture of yourself and talk about your work, life...whatever. Interview yourself if you like.
2) Okay...so you don't want to show your face...show us your studio instead. Where do you create? Do you like it/want something different? What is your favorite part about where you create?
Our Faces:
Dave

Eileen
Happily married for almost 22 years and going strong...We have 2 wonderful boys and a really good bulldog...Enough about us...

We both create in our home studio(s)...My area is in our add on room (florida room as some people call it)...Combination play room and my studio...Dave's candle studio is the dining room and kitchen...He's very neat when he creates and always cleans up his mess, unlike me who has stuff all over my section of the room...
Dave would love to have a dedicated area to create his candles and store his supplies...One day he hopes to have his own factory, filled with Dave's Homemade Serenity Candles and all the stuff that goes into creating them...
Eileen likes her little studio although she wouldn't mind it being a bit bigger, like the WHOLE room with lots of storage, tables and workspace...
So here are pictures of ...

Big Sister...Little Brother...

This has been on my mind this last week so I thought I'd make it my blog post for today...Most of you know how busy I've been promoting our new Etsy shop, DavesHomemade and believe me it is well worth it...Dave's candles are truly wonderful and absolutely the best smelling and burning candle you can buy...I am the most picky candle person there is...

I see DavesHomemade as the "little brother" just born into our craft family...He is getting so much love, energy and attention these days...Then there is my girl, DorsetHillBeads, she's the "big sister" and has been somewhat neglected in the fact that I haven't had much time to create new beads for her to display the last couple of weeks...I think she is beginning to feel the presence of the "little brother" in the family...

Just like my children, I need to find the balance between creating new beads and jewelry for DorsetHillBeads yet still maintain and run DavesHomemade while promoting both shops...
So the goal here is for DavesHomemade to bring warmth, joy, aromatic pleasure and peace to all who desire the comfort of an amazing candle...and...for DorsetHillBeads to give her customers something unique and creative to play with so they can create and enjoy beautiful wearable art, and to also provide those who like the finished jewelry that is unique and one of a kind...
Here's to siblings...MY BOYS...

Happiness...

"Tell everyone you know: "My happiness depends on me, so you're off the hook." And then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they're doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for th e way you feel—and then, you'll love them all. Because the only reason you don't love them, is because you're using them as your excuse to not feel good."
